Man Quilt

One of the hardest things to make out of modern fabric is a Man quilt. Most of our fabrics are bright, fun, and/or geared towards kids. Recently, the challenge of making a man quilt has come up for me. I was inspired by the mess in my house when a bunch of my Denyse Schmidt fabric was tossed on the floor together. This has Epic man quilt potential.

Is it not gorgeous? In a very man sort of way. The wheels are turning and I can't wait to get started. Time to destash more fabric to afford new fabric! Haha. I love our fabric community. More later!

Just Keep Sewing...

I don't have a lot of words today because I am sewing my face off. I am enjoying my three day weekend to the fullest, but also have some work sewing to finish up. So here is the sewing I am treating myself with every time I reach a goal. :)

Marmalade Winner!

Please excuse my delay in announcing the winner. My dad and his coworker took a 16 ft fall off a scaffolding on thursday after the nails failed, so I have been a little tied up with that. Dad fractured his pelvis and his coworker shattered a vertebrae. Thankfully, we have Dad home. His coworker will go in for surgery today, and we will know more after that. Even though it was very scary and they both suffered injuries, we were lucky. There were many worse outcomes that could have happened. Please keep them in your thoughts and send positive energy our way.

Mr. random number generator has picked Margaret as our winner! I will be contacting you be email to let you know and then Tammy will be sending you your prize. Thanks to everyone that entered. Stay tuned because I plan to do this with a number of my favorite shops over the summer. Next up is Westwood Acres!

Help a sista out!

Don't forget to check out the great giveaway in the post below!

So I am doing a little destashing to afford a little fabric treat for myself (which I will show you soon if I am able to get it!) I have set up some listings on etsy. I have a couple Hope Valley prints for just $6.50 a yard! And I have a ton of yardage.

They will make great backings and bindings. I also put up some coveted fat quarters from AMHs Good Folks! Eep!

It was painful, but I can let them go. (Right?!) Right now the listings are set up to be just US, but if you are international, just message me and I will figure out the shipping. I appreciate any help in moving this fabric out of my stash in advance!!

Also! This is my first mobile blog post! How technologically advanced am I!?! If it looks weird, that's why. Haha

Shop Talk {Marmalade Fabrics}

Have you ever been over to Marmalade Fabrics? Tammy might be one of my favorite shop owners out there. The customer service is fabulous, selection is fantastic, and the shipping turn around time is awesome.

One of my favorite features of a fabric shop is being able to shop by color. If you know anything about me, its that I love monochromatic fabric. Marmalade Fabrics makes it very easy to shop by color, collection, designer, or whatever your fancy.

She also has super fun bundles! If you peruse the section, you'll see some of these beauties up for grabs.

Also, she has some fantastic monthly subscriptions. My personal favorite is Around the Color Wheel. Every month Around the Color Wheel bundles are available in a new color of the rainbow AND, this bundle is offered in both prints and solids. Talk about an amazing way to build your stash. You can subscribe to one or both in fat quarter packs or half yard packs. Let me tell you, they are worth it. Check out the picks for orange.

Tammy has graciously agreed to giveaway a $30 gift certificate to her shop! All you have to do is become a follower and leave a comment letting me know that you follow. If you follow already, just leave a comment saying that you do. I will choose a winner on Saturday!!

Again, if you haven't been over to Marmalade Fabrics before, go check them out right now!!

Sewing Summit

Did I forget to mention that I am going to Sewing Summit?!? I sat in front of my computer on the day ticket sales opened clicking refresh like a crazy person and not working. Haha. I'm sure the people walking by my cube noticed the crazy, but I didn't care. I have missed out these last two years for one reason or another, but this time, it wasn't going to get away from me.

Can you say excited? Now to find roommates, get a flight, and wait. Sigh. Why does it have to be in September? I want to go now! Haha. Soooo, are you going?

In the mean time, I have tons and tons to do. I can't get a free minute to save my life. I haven't been blogging because my pattern deadlines for Aria Lane are right around the corner. Another very exciting thing! I have this weekend to myself so soon I'll have things to share. Presumably.
